Westminster is a city steeped in heritage, from the historic buildings to the museums that keep the town's history alive. Perhaps the most notable example of this is the Westminster Castle, now known as "The Pillar of Fire." Built in 1893, it was the home of Westminster University. The location has housed several schools and still houses the Belleview Christian School.
There are numerous amenities that make Westminster real estate a wise choice, like the fact that the city's immaculately maintained parks and trails are threaded throughout the city. Multi use trails for biking, hiking, walking and wildlife viewing showcase some of the spectacular scenery that Westminster has to offer. Open spaces have been preserved throughout the town in order to highlight its history and to save these historic locations for future generations.
Westminster is serviced by three public school systems. The Adams 12 Five Star Schools, Adams County School District #50 and the Jefferson County School District. There are also alternative options such as charter schools and private schools. There are also a number of post secondary institutions in the Westminser area including University of Colorado at Denver, University of Colorado at Boulder, Westwood College, and Front Range Community College.
